When they die, zombie villagers drop 0–2 Rotten Flesh. The maximum drop is increased by 1 per level of Looting, for a maximum of 0-5 with Looting III. They can also drop an iron ingot, carrot, or potato when killed by a player or tamed wolf. This drop has a 2.5% chance of occurring, increasing by 1% per level of looting.
Finally, the fourth option. This should work pretty well, when you get your zombie in, use a dispenser to give them armor, or a sheared pumpkin. So this is the one you should use. Note that if you're throwing an item to a zombie to have it pick it up, there is only a chance it will pick it up, for more information, see here. Villagers (aka NPCs) are Passive Mobs added to Minecraft in Update 0.9.0. Villagers only spawn naturally in Villages and Igloos upon generation, or by Breeding. They can also be spawned by curing Zombie Villagers. They will never despawn, even if the Player wanders away from them. Unlike most other Mobs, Villagers are intelligent. They "socialize" with other Villagers, can harvest crops, pickAny items in these slots are lost if a villager becomes a zombie villager; a zombie villager has no inventory slots. If /gamerule mobGriefing is false, villagers will not pick up items. A dispenser can be used, if adjacent to a villager, to place armor on it.
Err, not really, no. There has to be some doors, yes, but "sixteen" is not any sort of magic number. The "magic" numbers are: 35% (number of villagers, per door), three (approximate number of doors per villager), six (minimum number of doors for an "infinite" villager breeder -- but see below about "willing"), ten (minimum number of villagers required to spawn golems), and twenty-one (minimum0u7z.
