sam2099. • 4 yr. ago. You do not need any software to get a DS4 working on GTA. It works natively but it will show Xbox controls on screen. Just make sure to have the controller plugged in before launching the game. If you connect it mid game, then it won't recognize it and you'll have to restart the game.
I'm sure theres a file in the Epicgames directory that has something pertaining to a block for controller input. I wonder if there is a fix. EDIT: So turns out, it doesn't have to be THAT complicated. You just add the Rockstar Social Club AND the EpicGames launcher as a non-steam game to Steam and just use the Steam controller configuration

If he doesn’t have a steam account, it’s easy to make then at the top, click on “games” and select “add non steam games” from the list then choose “rockstar launcher” from the menu and then he should be able to launch gta directly from steam through rockstar.
