1. Since the cycle count of MacBooks is logged inside the battery, it is impossible to reset or reduce the count. The cycle count is a one-way trip. It keeps increasing but can't go back. Just like the TIME. However, you can replace the battery to bring the cycle count to 0. You can read more about MacBook Cycle Count at this blog post.

check the mouse trackpad cable and the cable going into the logic board. in my experience, the trackpad cable needs to be installed exactly, we used to raise the MacBook up and slide the cable end into the trackpad upside down. there were many times we had to unscrew everything just to reinsert that cable. good luck and use fixit for everything as well I always refer to that just to refresh

On an older MacBook Pro, look for a square-shaped port that the magnetic charging cable snaps into. The charging cable's light should change to orange to show it's charging or green to show it's fully charged. On a newer MacBook Pro, plug the USB-C cable into any port. Two should be located on the right-hand side which are ideal.
When checking over a MacBook's battery life in System Information / System Profiler I would often switch out batteries and check again, deciding if a battery replacement was worthwhile. Once the battery is switched out you will see the cycle count (along with capacity, etc) change.
