Eco mode only limits the performance of the vehicle to improve fuel mileage. MDS is only on Dodge V8 reducing it to 4 cylinders when power requirements are low enough. I've been able to get up to 27 MPG average on a dodge V6. With the same driving style have been able to get 22 MPG in a 5.7 V8.
The economy of the 2.7 & 3.5 are not much better than the 5.7 hemi. The cars are just too big for a V6. The 5.7 is a perfect fit for a car of this size. And If you want a true performance to back up the chargers good looks get the 6.1 The charger is simply not an economy car. 2006 torred daytona with a few mods. Save.
